- Physical Application: Recitations are often blown into water, oil, or onto the body for ingestion or topical use.
- Cultural Blending: Early ruqyah practices sometimes incorporated pre-Islamic incantations (as long as they didn’t contain shirk), which the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) approved in certain contexts (e.g., treating scorpion stings).
- Non-Qur’anic Ruqyah: The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and Jibril (AS) also performed ruqyah using non-Qur’anic words.
- Self-Application and Third-Party Application: Ruqyah could be performed by a healer (raqi) or recited by the afflicted person themselves.
Higher Ruqyah
Higher Ruqyah refers to advanced, research-driven techniques developed beyond traditional Ruqyah practices. It integrates deeper Qur’anic knowledge with an understanding of spiritual anatomy and physical illness. The focus is on efficacy, often using innovative methods—such as elemental forces or tailored recitations—to produce stronger, sometimes miraculous, healing outcomes.

A Firesheet is a specialised written supplication used in Fire Ruqyah, a Higher Ruqyah technique developed by the International Academy of Ruqyah (IAR). This method involves crafting a personalised prayer or request to Allah, aiming to address specific afflictions such as demonic disturbances, black magic, or the evil eye. The key component of this practice is the act of burning the Firesheet, symbolizing the destruction of negative forces and serving as a means to deliver the supplication to the unseen realm.

Do not attempt this treatment yourself. It is a controlled spiritual protocol and misuse can lead to harm or spiritual backlash.
How Firesheets Work:
- Assessment: A trained Raqi (practitioner) evaluates the individual’s condition to identify the underlying spiritual issues.
- Creation: Based on the assessment, the Raqi composes a Firesheet—a written ruqyah or du’a (supplication) in plain language, ensuring transparency and comprehension.
- Execution: The individual burns the Firesheet, embodying the intention to eradicate the identified spiritual afflictions. This merges the ruqyah with the attribute of fire and sends it to the unseen world, seeking Allah’s intervention.

It’s important to note that Fire Ruqyah and the use of Firesheets strictly adhere to Islamic principles, avoiding any form of shirk (associating partners with Allah). The practice utilises the symbolic act of burning (as hinted in the Qur’an by the destruction of the City of Sodom) to signify the destruction of negative influences , relying solely on Allah’s power for healing.

Tea of Dissolution
The Tea of Dissolution is a specially prepared tea infused with Higher Ruqyah techniques. Using the element of water and caffeine as a delivery mechanism, this treatment penetrates deep into the spiritual body—especially the ‘aql (intellect) and spiritual heart (qalb)—to dissolve and weaken negative forces that are tightly embedded in the mind or body.

The Cigar of Destruction is a type of Fire Ruqyah and is one of the most advanced and controversial techniques in Higher Ruqyah. Developed through rigorous experimentation and spiritual insight at the International Academy of Ruqyah (IAR), this treatment delivers ruqyah through a rarely explored channel: the breath.
When traditional ruqyah techniques or even infused liquids fail to penetrate certain afflictions—especially those embedded in the respiratory system or spiritual breath —this method can trigger immediate and powerful healing responses.
The cigar treatment involves the careful use of cigar smoke as a carrier for ruqyah. Unlike recreational or cultural smoking, this practice is spiritual in nature and is never used for pleasure. The fire is infused with divine names, ruqyah and intention, and is delivered in a way that targets the lungs, spiritual breath, and inner energy pathways.
The goal? To destroy embedded spiritual entities, blockages, or evil forces that cannot be accessed through conventional ruqyah techniques.

Why Breath?

Visual Ruqyah is an advanced spiritual healing technique grounded in the principles of Higher Ruqyah. Unlike traditional recitation-based methods, Visual Ruqyah operates at Level 7 of the ruqyah framework, where healing is conducted outside of conventional space and time.
This powerful approach involves creating and transmitting spiritual medicine through visual representations and allows practitioners to target illnesses and disturbances remotely. This includes afflictions like eczema or black magic, particularly when physical access to the client is limited or when deeper spiritual engagement is necessary e.g. to burn the sihr buried in the graveyard in a different country.
Umar ibn al-Khattab (RA) once said “Ya Sariyah, al-jabal!” (“O Sariyah, the mountain!”) while giving a sermon in Medina. He was shown a vision of Sariah—his army commander—who was engaged in battle in Persia. Sariah heard the voice and took cover behind the mountain, ultimately securing victory.
This historical account supports the plausibility of visual and non-physical spiritual interactions, laying a conceptual foundation for Visual Ruqyah as an advanced method of remote healing and spiritual intervention .
How it Works:
- Vision Activates
During a ruqyah session, some individuals may experience clear spiritual visions. These are not imagined thoughts but spiritually induced perceptions that can be vivid and directive. - Guided Resolution
Within the vision, the raqi helps the client navigate the spiritual landscape to uncover the root causes of their affliction—often hidden beneath layers of metaphysical interference. For example, if an illness is traced to black magic consumed through food, the client may be guided to spiritually open their own stomach, extract the evil and burn it in the vision—initiating healing in the physical world. - Third-Party Visualiser
Not all clients are naturally visual. A spiritually receptive individual can be appointed as a third-party visualiser. This person experiences the visions on behalf of the client and, under the raqi’s direction, carries out the spiritual interventions needed to assist the client’s healing process.

Spiritual Hijama
In modern times, Hijama (cupping therapy) is often viewed through a limited, physical lens—used for detoxification, muscle recovery, improved circulation, and other physical health benefits. While these outcomes are valuable, they only touch the surface of what Hijama was originally meant to address. Rooted in prophetic tradition, Hijama was endorsed not just as a medical intervention, but as a spiritual cleansing practice.
Spiritual Hijama is a specialised form of cupping that acknowledges and targets spiritual afflictions—unseen forces or energies that may manifest as physical pain, emotional imbalance, or mental disturbances. Unlike conventional Hijama, which relies on generalised charts or symptom-based placements, Spiritual Hijama involves a dynamic, intuitive process of locating and removing these afflictions in real-time.
The process begins with the practitioner using their spiritual sensitivity (or “sixth sense”) to detect areas in the body where spiritual disturbances are present. These disturbances may not remain static—they often shift or move during the session. Spiritual Hijama practitioners are trained to sense this movement and respond instantly, placing additional cups in precise locations to intercept and extract the moving affliction.
Narrated by Abdullah ibn Abbas (رضي الله عنه): The Prophet ﷺ said:
“I did not pass by any group of angels on the night of Al-Isra’ (the Night Journey) but all of them said to me: ‘O Muhammad, order your Ummah to practice cupping (Hijama).’” (Sunan Ibn Majah 3477 – Hasan)
